If your bed has any railing, a headboard or foot board, I would suggest doing a bit of wrapping or pinning. I have personal experience with that, not the loft bed part but when I had bunk beds, I wrapped the lights around the head and foot boards. I couldn’t attach them to the ceiling because it was a cramped area. Or you could outline your mattress on the ceiling so the wiring isn’t hovering over the bed itself.
